Your Safety Matters
PaceMates is built with safety at its core. Here's how we protect our running community.
Verified Community
Every PaceMates account requires email verification. Our moderation team reviews profiles and clubs to maintain a trusted community of real runners.
Safe Meeting Points
Runs are organised at public, well-lit meeting points. We encourage daylight meetups and group runs, especially for first-time connections.
Transparent Profiles
See running history, group memberships, and mutual connections before agreeing to run with someone. Real activity builds real trust.
Privacy Controls
You control who sees your location, pace, and profile details. Block or mute anyone at any time. Your exact location is never shared without your consent.
Report Anything
See something off? Report users, messages, runs, or groups directly from the app. Our moderation team reviews every report and takes action within 24 hours.
Moderated Messaging
Our messaging system includes safeguards against spam and harassment. Unwanted contacts can be blocked instantly, and abusive messages are flagged automatically.
Inclusivity & Gender-Based Groups
PaceMates is explicitly inclusive of women, men, non‑binary, and trans runners. We support women‑only and men‑only groups to give people the comfort and safety of choice — not exclusion. Harassment, misgendering, or discriminatory language in any group is a bannable offence.
Dedicated Support
Our safety team is available to help with any concerns. Reach out at safety@pacemates.ie for urgent issues or use the in-app report feature.
